Vase déco de Venini
Napoleon Martinuzzi 1930
It was the 1930s and Art Deco sparked an interest throughout Europe in the opulent ornamental style of new shapes, materials and shades. The Art Deco vase makes its entrance on the scene.
It catches the eye with its curved shapes, never to let go. The sophisticated exuberance of the Déco vase's movements does not escape the viewer's attention.
It says goodbye to the austerity of the early 20th century.
"Rhythm: this is the word that defines the form of Venini's Déco vases. The rings repeat, one after the other, increase, decrease, then increase again. They seem to move like circles in the water with waves and reflections. A movement that is a dance.
Workmanship: blown opaline, obtained by overlapping lattimo with other glass, blown and worked by hand.
