The casserole è intended for the preparation of foods that are cooked for a long time or otherwise quite slow and need to be stirred. Cylindrical in shape and with two handles, casseroles are used both for cooking and as containers for bringing food to the table.
But bearing the name are the preparations that know how to get the most out of casseroles: we are therefore talking about stew dishes composed of small-piece foods bound by a thick sauce.
You can cook many dishes in a casserole: no one forbids you from ursing it to boil vegetables or short pasta, to cook a broth or soup, né to deep fry by taking advantage of its capacity and depth.
