Gio Ponti is an architect and designer, known for designing houses, public buildings and objects of use, also distinguishing himself in the world of painting and stage design.
The 1930s saw the design of several Milanese buildings emblematic of the new architectural trends of the time: the tower-house on Corso Venezia, the Rai and Ferrania buildings, and the Torre Littoria at Sempione Park.
In 1956 he designed the Pirelli skyscraper and later devoted himself to important residential complexes in Europe, the Middle East, Canada, the United States, and South America.
His collaboration with the Venini glassworks began in the 1920s, for which he designed lampdades and objects.
