Monofiore Balloton

These are the ’70s, the first installations are born and art becomes increasingly conceptual and expressive. In this climate of change, the forms of the classical abandon their patterns.

The natural function of the vase changes: from many flowers, as è it has always been, it now accommodates only one. While the surface of the glass abandons its hardness: it looks soft, yet è glass. The optical illusion of Venini's 1970 Monofiori è in its name: Balloton, the unique workmanship that creates the matelassé effect on the surface.

Processing: the blown glass è handcrafted with the traditional balloton process with a metal mold for a crisscrossed relief effect and finished in the neck with a hot-applied colored thread that varies in color.
