Carlo Scarpa Table Lamp, Venini
Designer Carlo Scarpa, 1940
Refined designer with an experimental vocation, Carlo Scarpa makes this work the greatest representation of his artistic and craftsmanship knowledge. The linearity of glass combines here with visual echoes of flowers, shrubs and unexpected water plays.

Carlo Scarpa graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where he dedicated himself to university teaching, which he continued in various positions until 1977.
He established himself as a designer after World War II thanks to important exhibitions:
the Paul Lee exhibition for the 24th Venice Biennale
the Art Book Pavilion in 1950
the Italian Pavilion at the XXVI edition of the Biennale
In 1932, he began working with the historic Venini glassworks and became the artistic director until 1946.
This long period allowed him to leave an indelible mark in the world of the furnace both for the design of models that have gone down in history and for the research of the most refined techniques that are still used today.
